GiftSmart is a gift list app for creating and sharing occasion lists with friends and family. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We may collect account details such as your name, email address, profile photo, sign-in provider, country, timezone, and optional birthday details. We collect gift list information you choose to add, including event names, dates, descriptions, item titles, product links, photos, prices, notes, sizes, colours, invitees, and guest activity.

How We Use Information

To create and manage your GiftSmart account.
To create, share, and display gift lists and gift items.
To let invited guests reserve or mark gifts as bought.
To protect surprise gift information from list owners before reveal where applicable.
To send service messages, notifications, and invite updates.
To improve reliability, security, and app performance.

Firebase and Service Providers

GiftSmart uses Firebase and Google Cloud services for authentication, database storage, file storage, cloud functions, analytics, crash reporting, notifications, and security features. We may also use approved product metadata or affiliate providers to process product links that you add to a gift list.

Sharing

Gift list content is shared with people you invite to a list. Guest purchase or reservation information is intended to be visible to eligible guests and hidden from the list owner until reveal where the app supports that behaviour. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

We keep account and list information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request account deletion from the GiftSmart admin or account settings area.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export your personal information. Contact us if you want to exercise these rights.

Children

GiftSmart is intended for users who are old enough to create an account under the laws of their country. Children should use the service only with appropriate parent or guardian permission.
